10/22 Update

To all of those out there in Disneyland-land, it's been a while. But we are back, and better than ever. On October 22, Ruben and I went to Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party, and to say we had a blast would be putting it lightly. Our goal for the night was to get character pictures, since there were numerous designated areas to do so. We only got on one ride, Toy Story Midway Mania, and I lost but got my highest score ever and finally got that damn black cat as my prize! There's not much else to write about, so I will leave you with our pictures from the night. We will be back with posts in the coming weeks, as we will be at the parks on Saturday for my birthday party, and again on the 25th for my official birthday day!

(I was an Aquabat, even though I forgot my power belt :( and Adam was druggie version of Adam- Ruben)

10/12

So yesterday I (Ruben) went to the parks Sans Adam, he was caught up with The Pats and Avs games to which now he must avenge them like Simba avenged his fathers death. Being a weekend the parks were a little too crowded for my liking. But I still got on the rides that mattered. A tip for those going to the NBC Haunted Mansion- Get in line during the fireworks. We did this last night and the wait was only 30 minutes, way better than the 60+ the rest of the day. Being that I did not grab my camera when leaving yesterday all I have are some lovely cameraphone pictures, I came so close to my high score on TSMM yesterday- still something for Adam to try and top.

Also being thats its Halloween time they had some decorations up my favorite being this

Cheshire Cat pumpkin. How rad.

They had some Day Of The Dead things up nearby Big Thunder Mountain, I thought that they were pretty rad.

9/20 Update.

Weren't we just here a few days ago? Adam and I hit up the parks again for a little while today as we were heading off to see H2O and Rancid (I don't really even like Rancid) at the House Of Blue at Downtown Disney.
The Parks were easily the most crowded I had seen them all summer, which is kinda weird since technically summer is over. Our first destination was going to be the Princess Fair because I personally wanted some pictures with some princesses. We took the Railroad around to Toontown where I noticed the line for Rodger Rabbit was insanely long, and unfortunately we realized the line for the Princess Fair was also insanely long. Since we had other plans we made our way back to the entrance of Disneyland and over to California Adventure.
While there we rode Heimlich's Train, which... just has some of the funniest Dialogue I have heard, then we went off to get a good spot for the ever so amazing Pixar's Play Parade. Which if you haven't seen is easily one of the most fun parades with a catchy song to it. My good friend Mychal (who can be seen in the picture of us with Sorcerer Mickey in the previous post) is a green army man in the parade which is why we finally saw it the other day.
After the parade we met up with another one of my good friends Lindsey and we got on California Screamin'- which we don't do enough, as well as the Tower of Terror.
I'm pretty sure I creeped out some lady on Tower, but thats half the fun.

Here are some pictures below, Adam will add the ones from the rides when he gets home later.

8/14 Update

Ruben and I went to the parks from 8:45pm-12am. Somehow, neither of us had ever been on the many rides found in A Bug's Land, so we decided to stray from our normal DCA routine of Toy Story Midway Mania and explore a bit. We tried out Heimlich's Chew Chew Train and Tuck and Roll's Bumper Cars, though we didn't have enough time for Flik's Flyers which I was truly disappointed by, though hopefully we'll get to ride it tonight! After getting off of Heimlich's train, I exclaimed to the cast member that it was the best ride I had ever been on and she gave me a look like I was crazy. Oh well. We were lucky enough to exit A Bug's Land just as the Electric Parade was coming by so we had to watch and dance to our favorite part. At Disneyland, we rode the usual assortment of rides, as well as Matterhorn and Pirates.. two rides we love but don't ride too much (Ruben's Note: I can't quite say I love Pirates that much... I just like to name the Skeletons at the start. Rebbecca is the bearded one and Fernando is the one with all the treasure in case you were wondering). As usual, we had our hearts and stomachs set on In N Out after the park closed, but took a little too much time wandering out of the park to the point where we weren't sure if we could make it to the restaurant before their 1am closing time. As we were leaving the parking structure, I told Ruben that we would get to In N Out at 1:02am, and surely enough the clock struck 1:02 as we pulled up to the drive-thru speakerbox. We were so nervous that we had missed it, but luckily, someone spoke up to take our order. We were so excited that I think I may have screamed like a little girl as I told the In N Out speakerman that we sped all the way from Disneyland to make it there. However, he was not as excited as he replied with an "Excuse me?". Oh well, we got our food that we wanted and watched the intense lightning show across the sky as we ate. All in all, another great night.

8/10 Update

Ruben and I ventured to the park Sunday night from 8:30pm-12am. Thankfully, we met our goal of the night and got there early enough to get in a ride on Toy Story Midway Mania. I won (as usual) and finally broke the 150,000 point barrier to get the CAT prize at the end. On our way out of the park, we decided to venture through A Bug's Land since neither of us has really explored that area. Everything was already closed as it was after 9, but we got some pictures with the character displays and found a few rides that we've never been on but would like to experience in the very near future (possibly tonight!). Once inside Disneyland, we went straight to Jungle Cruise, which has become our routine as of late, and we were lucky enough to have Nathan, the best skipper I can ever remember having in my hundreds of journeys through the jungle. Hardly any of his jokes were the typical jokes you hear, and the way he delivered each joke was exceptional. On our way out of the park, we were sure to give him one of the new verbal compliment cards at City Hall. We also experienced another very nice cast member named Dani while exiting Storybook Land. She was with another family talking about taking them to ride Casey Jr., to which I had to profess my ever-growing love for the ride. While waiting in line, she asked us if we wanted to go on any other Fantasyland rides, to which we exclaimed "PETER PAN!!!", and she basically turned into Genie from Aladdin and walked us across Fantasyland, up the exit, and right onto Peter Pan!!! No wait for us!!! To be honest, I was kind of hoping for her skin to turn blue and for her to belt out a rendition of "Friend Like Me", but a free pass to the front of the Peter Pan line was good enough for me! We of course left her a verbal compliment card at the end of the night as well, even though she informed us she would only be working at Disneyland for another two weeks. We finished the night with our typical assortment of Fantasyland rides, though we didn't get on the Matterhorn as we had hoped for. I think we will be returning to the park tonight so there should be another update in the coming days.

Here are some pictures from last night for your enjoyment:

The addition of more pictures (you can all tell how lazy I, Ruben, am when it comes to this can't you?)

Pan + No Flash = can't see much of a picture.

Adam only adds pictures of himself. How self centered can he be! Anyways agreeing with Adam, Nathan was easily the funniest skipper I have experienced all year, though he did have a few of the typical jokes. His delivery is what set him apart from telling the same jokes as all of the other skippers. When Dani asked if we wanted to go on any other rides our first reaction wasn't Peter Pan, it was more us staring at each other thinking "what rides are there?" until I realized and said "Oh... what about Pan?" Its funny because we never go on it. We do a lot of fantasyland rides, probably because you can do so many in such a short time.

7/15 Update

Last night, Ruben and I once again ventured to the park for a much-needed trip after nearly a month of not being there. Since DCA chooses to close at 9pm (for reasons I don't fully understand), we headed straight to the pier to get a ride on Toy Story Midway Mania. I was victorious, and here is a picture of our scoreboard:

By the time we got off the ride, DCA was closed so us and the entire park headed across the esplanade to Disneyland. Once inside, the park was preparing for fireworks so it was nearly impossible to get anywhere. We had to walk completely around the hub to get to Adventureland, but when we got in front of the castle, we had a perfect view of the fireworks for a good minute or two. While attempting to circle around the hub, a little girl behind us, approximately 10 years old, started screaming "I CAN'T GO NOWHERE GRANDMA!", followed by "I JUST WANT TO PUSH ALL THESE PEOPLE OUT OF MY FREAKIN' WAY!!!". Needless to say, Ruben and I got a good laugh out of that one. We also had another interesting encounter with a fellow guest in the park. While walking on the path connecting Frontierland, a girl i didn't know grabbed onto my arm and walked with us while talking to me. She asked my name, my age, if i was married, and then for my phone number. What a night! We did our usual assortment of rides, including Astro Blasters three times in a row with no line, but unfortunately the camera only worked on one of the three games (which also happened to be my worst!). On our way out, we had time for one more ride and decided to try out Astro Orbiter since it was right in front of us and I hadn't been on since the old Rocket Jet days above the People Mover platform. Bad choice, Adam! The ride basically is the equivalent to Dumbo on crack, and I was completely dizzy after getting off the ride. I'm definitely never trying that one again!

Total ride counts for the year have been updated, and that does it for this update, but I'll leave you with some pictures from last night..

Note: Has anyone else been having problems recently getting their pictures from Astro Blasters? Ever since they changed the format to send the picture directly in the e-mail it hasn't been working for me. I have all but given up on this ride because of it. -Ruben
